Reading Project II: As Old as Time

As Old as Time: A Twisted Tale

“Repulsed by her haggard appearance, the Prince sneered at the gift and turned the old woman away - although she warned him not to be deceived by appearances, for true beauty is found within.”

- Liz Braswell

Once Belle finished her dinner, Lumière and Cogsworth guided her through the castle. At some point, they told her that she could not go to the West Wing; it is forbidden. Nevertheless, Belle ignored them and went there anyway. After that, she entered a room where there were two things, a pretty silver hand mirror and a red rose under a bell jar.

When the girl touched the rose, the Beast appeared, but it was too late. As clear as if it was occurring right there, behind her eyes, she saw the truth: the Prince who was the Beast, the spell, the rose, the Enchantress. Her mother.

Thereafter, the Beast began to howl and Belle rushed out of the room, wanting to leave the castle. Then, some wolves began to follow her. It was a great chase, and when she was about to be bitten by one of them, the Beast got to the scene, saved her life, and fainted.

Following that incident, the two of them became closer and decided to find Belle's mother, as this is one of the ways to get everything back to normal; the other way is that someone falls in love with him. Thus, both have spent their time reading books in the library and looking for information. As far as I have read, they have found something unusual in the population records; some names have a mark next to them.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that there have not been any more chapters about Belle's mother… What happened to her?
